Inner City Cluster Schools Rippa Rugby Tournament

On Thursday 6th August staff members Madison & Annette had the absolute pleasure in taking 17 of our Year 5 & 6 students to the Inner City Cluster Schools (ICCS) Rippa Rugby tournament at Cox's Bay.

The students were split into two teams to compete in an A and B grade.  Each team played four, 20-minute games in their respective pool play.

The B grade team: Caleb, Eliza, Macay, Mario, Neil, Rima, Taneiqua & Zarah had one win and three losses to end up 3rd equal in their pool.  The top two in each pool went on to play two more games in the finals, so unfortunately that was the end of their games for the day.

However, they came in handy as vocal supporters and additional legs, as the A grade team of Bailey, Belte, Elizabeth, Etta, Malachi, Manaia, Te Māpuna, Theo and Zaria went through to the finals!  The A grade team had two wins and two losses which was enough for them to come second in their pool and go through to play two more games.  They ended up playing for 3rd, drew the game, and finished 4th overall on points differential.

A huge thank you to our team of parent supporters and a special thanks to Eva & Tua who helped out with transportation to/from the venue.
